Our valedictory session for the first batch of idea-stage Agri-Entrepreneurs

*NEATEHUB organises Valedictory Ceremony for its first batch of Idea-stage
Agrientrepreneurs on 30 Sept 2019 in Jorhat*

The North East Agriculture Technology Entrepreneurs Hub (NEATEHUB)
organized a valedictory ceremony on 30 September 2019 for its first batch
of idea-stage Agri-entrepreneurs who underwent a two month residential
programme at NEATEHUB, AAU Jorhat.

This Agripreneurship Orientation Programme (AOP) started on 5th of August
and ended on 1st of October 2019 and had 12 participants who hailed from
various districts of Assam. The participants received a certificate along
with a cheque of Rs. 20,000 as a stipend for their two months long
residential programme.

The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Malinee Goswami, Hon’ble Vice
Chancellor of the Assam Women’s University, Rowriah, Jorhat. The ceremony
was also graced by the presence of Heads and Deans of various departments
of Assam Agricultural University, and NEATEHUB officials.

In her address, Dr. Goswami emphasised the importance of inculcating an
innovative mindset and congratulated the incubator for promoting innovating
thinking and creating a favourable atmosphere for agri-entrepreneurs in the
region.

The 12 agri- entrepreneurs who participated worked on unique agri-business
ideas ranging from innovative pig farming using latest technologies, jack
fruit processing to drone tech, agro-tourism, Farming as a Service. During
these two months, the participants received technical guidance, training on
business planning and mentoring to develop their ideas. They were also
attached to existing business enterprises as “apprentice” to learn the
nuances of business.

Consequent to their completing the programme, the participants are eligible
to apply for grant in aid up to Rs.5 lakhs, subject to their DPRs being
approved by a team of experts.
